Basketball Club of Woodinville

2018-19 Select Program Coaching Staff

This will be Jeff’s third year as a head coach with the Woodinville Select program.  He coached the 7th grade team during the 2017-18 season, and the 9th grade team during the 2012-13 season.  He also has experience coaching at the college and high school levels.  He spent 5 years as the Associate Head Coach at Northwest University, was the King’s High School Varsity Head Coach from 1993-1999, and was a Varsity Assistant at Woodinville High from 2003-2005.

Jeff played four years of high school Varsity basketball—two at Berean Christian (California), and two at Kings High School.  He then played one year at Skagit Valley CC, then finished his college career at Concordia University in Portland.

Jeff lives in Woodinville with his wife, Jenny, and two children, Cooper, and Addie.  In addition to coaching basketball, Jeff has coached and been on the board of Woodinville Little League.

In addition to entering his first year as program director, this is Matt’s 3rd year as a Head Coach with Woodinville Select.  He coached the 5th grade PEAK league team in 2016-17, and the 4th grade team in 2017-18.  He was also an NYBA coach for two seasons.

Matt played three years of high school varsity basketball for Brown County High School (Indiana), where he was an all-league and all-state selection.  He then played four years at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA.  While at Oglethorpe, he was a team captain his junior and senior years.

Matt lives in Woodinville with his wife, Amy, and their three boys, Drew, Luke, and Sam.  In addition to coaching basketball, Matt coaches lacrosse for the Woodinville Lacrosse program.

Sam enters his 3rd year coaching in the Woodinville Select program.  He coached the 5th grade team during the 2017-18 season, and helped run the Junior Falcon Development program the season before.  He has been coaching basketball at the youth level for the last 7 seasons.

Sam played four years at Westfield High School (Texas), and was the captain his senior year.  He then played four years at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, where he was also a captain his senior year, and finished his career 5th all-time in season field goal percentage.

Sam lives in Woodinville with his wife, Kristin, and their three children, Branson, Natalie, and Scarlett.  Sam also has experience coaching youth baseball and football.

This is Josh’s 2nd year coaching with the Woodinville Select program.  Last season he was the assistant coach for the 7th grade team.  He also spent one season coaching youth basketball at the rec level.

Josh has a strong connection to the Woodinville Select program, as he played in the program his 8th and 9th grade years. He then played three years at Woodinville High, two of them on the Varsity team.  He continued his career at Whatcom Community College, where he played for two seasons.

Josh had the opportunity to play against future NBA talents—Brandon Roy, Nate Robinson, Marcus Williams, and Aaron Brooks--while at Woodinville High, as well the good fortune to play for some excellent coaches.  He is excited to share his knowledge of and passion for the game of basketball with his players.
